Megan lived in Chicago prior to relocating to Martha’s Vineyard. She started teaching yoga 20 years ago specializes in classes for all levels. She is great with beginners, people with injuries, and advanced practitioners. Her approach allows her to safely guide students into correct alignments or more challenging variations using knowledge of anatomy and therapeutic adjustments. She is inspired by life experiences and the people in her classes. Each class is geared towards what the members need in the moment, trying to help people find balance within themselves through conscious embodiment. Her offerings include Yoga for Everybody, Gentle Yoga. Classes are Basic Hatha style yoga (not vinyasa)
Maria is from Pittsfield, Massachusetts. She began instructing 20 years ago and is certified in cycling and group training. Her specialties include cardio and interval exercise classes. She is inspired by weight loss and body maintenance and here at Airport Fitness she offers Interval Cardio and Total Body classes.
Phyllis is from Pennsylvania and New York. She began training 18 years ago. She is certified in Personal Training, Strength, Pilates and Cycling. Her specialties include motivating clients to use their entire bodies to develop a mind body connection. She also emphasizes the importance of nutrition to overall health and well being. Phyllis is most inspired by helping members to achieve success, whatever their goals may be. Here at Airport Fitness she teaches personal training S.P.S.Y. classes (see Class Descriptions), and Cycling.
Kye is from New York and Martha’s Vineyard where he began Personal Training 15 years ago. He received his certification from the National Council of Strength and Fitness. His specialties include: Core work, Strength, Stabilization, Cardio, Boxing, Kick Boxing, PNF Stretching, TRX training, Sports Team & Group Training. Generally, recruiting more muscle stabilizers in order to increase power. Kye is inspired by the observation of how the body works. Challenging the body and mind can improve daily life, inside and out, by promoting overall body and mind awareness. He offers Personal Training, Trx training, Cross training, Tabata, Cardio Kickboxing and 5+5 classes.
Bonnie Menton has been practicing and teaching yoga for over 25 years. She is certified in Kripalu Yoga and trained to provide Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy and Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan. Bonnie’s ongoing studies include teachers Erich Schiffmann, John Friend and Todd Norian, gaining her greatest inspiration from Shiva Rea and Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa. She continues her practice and study with Shiva Rea’s Prana Vinyasa Flow, Fluid Power Teacher Training Programs. Bonnie’s dynamic Vinyasa style of teaching allows each student to come to the practice exactly where they are. With right intention and open heart, she believes that each student can recognize their highest potential both on and off the mat. Bonnie’s classes are a moderate level, but always open to new or beginner students.
Karen Culinan graduated from The National Ballet School of Canada. For 39 years she trained and competed as a dancer as well as coached professionally. Her class, Beyond Pilates focuses on total body conditioning helping to improve alignment, awareness and knowledge to promote physical well being.
Kris Martin has been a fitness instructor for 30 years. She received a Bachelor’s of Health Science from St. Mary’s College of California. Throughout her career, she has enjoyed teaching Balletone, Zumba and Conditioning to name a few. She has been practicing massage therapy for 20 years and is both a Certified Health Coach and Corrective Exercise Specialist. She received her Health Coach Certification from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and became a Corrective Exercise Specialist through The Biomechanics Method. With a diverse background and years of experience, Kris has been an integral part of our team here at Airport Fitness and we’re so glad to have her.
Emily has more than 30 years experience in the fitness industry. She holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and another in Fitness Management. Additionally, she has numerous fitness certifications including Barre,Yoga, BodyArt and Cycling. She combines a mind/body approach to teaching and students will learn proper bio-mechanics and alignment, as well as how to be more mindful of their self-talk. She combines cutting-edge movement with carefully curated playlists, humor and plenty of personal coaching to create a workout that is fun, challenging, and engaging. Emily creates a dynamic community so participants benefit as much from the social support and interaction as from the personal attention she provides
