MEGAN GRENNAN

MEGAN GRENNAN

Megan lived in Chicago prior to relocating to Martha’s Vineyard. She started teaching yoga 20 years ago specializes in classes for all levels.  She works seamlessly with beginners, people with injuries, and intermediate and advanced practitioners. Her approach allows her to safely guide students into correct alignments or more challenging variations using knowledge of anatomy and therapeutic adjustments. She is inspired by life experiences and the people in her classes. Each class is geared towards what participants need in the moment, as Megan helps each person find inner balance through conscious embodiment. Her offerings include Yoga for Everybody and Gentle Yoga. Classes are Basic Hatha style yoga (not Vinyasa).
KYE HOWELL

KYE HOWELL

Kye is from New York and Martha’s Vineyard where he began Personal Training over 15 years ago. He received his certification from the National Council of Strength and Fitness. His specialties include: Core work, Strength, Stabilization, Cardio, Boxing, Kick Boxing, PNF Stretching, TRX training, Sports Team & Group Training. Generally, recruiting more muscle stabilizers in order to increase power. Kye is inspired by the observation of how the body works. Challenging the body and mind can improve daily life, inside and out, by promoting overall body and mind awareness. He offers Personal Training, Pump Fit classes, Trx training, Cross training, Tabata, and Cardio Kickboxing.

Lisa Gross

 Originally a dancer, Lisa Grosshas practiced many bodywork disciplines including Pilates and Yoga and taught Dance and Aerobics in New York and Westchester County.  For the past five years Lisa has trained under the tutelage of Ana Rahe, the founder and creator of GST.

GST is a mindful and effortful conditioning technique that uses the internal somatic self-manipulation of fascia to strengthen and lengthen the muscular skeletal system, prevent and heal injuries and correct postural imbalances.  GST allows the student to make their own internal discoveries about how their bodies work and move while opening up unknown channels of energy ultimately creating a strong, healthy and dynamic body.

 

KAREN CULINAN

KAREN CULINAN

Karen Cullinan graduated from The National Ballet School of Canada. For 39 years, she trained and competed as a dancer and coached professionally. Her class, Beyond Pilates, focuses on total body conditioning to improve alignment and physical awareness as a means to promote overall well-being.
ALYSON PARKER

ALYSON PARKER

Alyson is a National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) certified personal trainer with a background in athletics, dance and, more recently, yoga. She teaches “Moves and Grooves” on Mondays and Wednesdays at 9:45 a.m. As a professional nutritionist, she has worked in many kitchens from the local co-op to Kripalu. Her dream is to become a certified dietician and to continue training and teaching for many years to come.
JANNETTE VANDERHOOP

JANNETTE VANDERHOOP

Jannette Vanderhoop is a Taoist with a passion for teaching, the arts and the environment. Born and raised on the Vineyard, like any true islander, she wears many hats! She is a professional artist, owner of Island Naturals jewelry, she sells her jewelry at the Vineyard Artisans festival and is also co-owner of NV&NV Gardens. She has been practicing yoga for 13 years.
EMILY PHILLIPS

EMILY PHILLIPS

Emily has more than 30 years of experience in the fitness industry. She holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and another in Fitness Management. She holds  fitness certifications in Barre,Yoga, BodyArt, and Cycling. She combines a mind/body approach to teaching;  students will learn proper bio-mechanics and alignment, as well as how to be more mindful of  “self-talk.” Emily combines cutting-edge movement with carefully curated playlists, humor, and plenty of personal coaching to create a workout that is fun, challenging, and engaging. She creates a dynamic community that allows participants to benefit as much from social support and interaction as from the personal attention she provides.

JEANNIE WRIGHT

Jeannie Wright is an avid cyclist. As a type 1 diabetic, cycling has changed her life. Jeannie is at her happiest in the saddle. She is looking forward to spinning with all of you on Tuesday evenings 5:15 pm.
TORY DOLAN

TORY DOLAN

Tory Dolan has been teaching fitness classes for the last 20 years. She is a certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor. She is certified to teach Spin, Bootcamp, Barre, Pound and Yoga, on top of her Precision Nutrition Level 1 training and her American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) certifications.

In class, expect Tory to motivate you, teach you to move properly, and get you inspired to dig a little deeper and push a little more.

MARIA MCFARLAND

MARIA MCFARLAND

Maria is from Pittsfield, Massachusetts. She began instructing 20 years ago and is certified in cycling and group training. She focuses on weight loss and body maintenance in her Interval Cardio and Total Body classes.
LATEEFAH PREE

LATEEFAH PREE

Pree teaches cycling class Saturdays 8:00AM. Cycling is a fantastic cardio class based on outdoor riding. Build strength, endurance and increase cardio vascular fitness while burning calories!
KRIS MARTIN

KRIS MARTIN

Kris Martin has been a fitness instructor for 30 years. She received a Bachelor’s of Health Science from St. Mary’s College of California. Throughout her career, she has enjoyed teaching Balletone, Zumba and Conditioning to name a few. She has been practicing massage therapy for 20 years and is both a Certified Health Coach and Corrective Exercise Specialist. She received her Health Coach Certification from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and became a Corrective Exercise Specialist through The Biomechanics Method. With a diverse background and years of experience, Kris has been an integral part of our team here at Airport Fitness and we’re so glad to have her.
