This camp on beautiful Martha’s Vineyard is specifically designed for 3.0 to 3.5 players who understand the game and rules but need to solidify fundamentals, improve consistency, introduce winning strategies and recognize attacking opportunities. Join us for three days of focused drills, expert coaching, and match play to take your game from good to great!

Camp Focus:
- A detailed understanding of your individual game and a plan for your progress after the camp.
- Days 1 and 2. Shots 1-5: The strategic, positional and technical aspects of each shot 1 to 5.
- Day 3 – You’ve neutralized the point and reached the NVZ. Now what?
- Shot Selection: Anticipation of your ‘next’ shot. The ball is always coming back.
- Context, context, context – Instructional games used for real-time teaching.
Why focus on the strategy of the first 5 shots?
- The Serve: Sets the tone for the point. A deep, strategic serve puts the opponent on the defensive from the start.
- The Return: A deep return neutralizes the initial offensive pressure from the serve and makes for a more difficult 3rd shot.
- The 3rd shot: This is the serving team’s first opportunity to neutralize the rally and capitalize on short returns. It can be a drive, drop or lob.
- 4th shot: The returning team’s first shot at NVZ to win the point or create pressure for the opponent. Roll, punch and reset volleys.
- The 5th shot: Serving team finishes their transition to the net and the ‘dinking’ portion of the point commences

9-10 – Individual Assessments through Game Play.
10-11 – Strategic Discussion and Demonstration Shots 1 to 5
11-1 – Drilling: Shots 3-5
Day 2:
9-10 – Instructional Play with Focus on First 5 shots and Context
10-12 – Drilling- Shots 3 to 5.
12-1 – Contextual Play
Day 3:
9-11 – NVZ Strategy and Drills (Purpose, Techniques, Strategy, Shifting, Communication)
11-1 – Instructional Play – Putting it all Together.
